Dr. Heyamoto had the honor to work the shot clock when the University of Washington hosted the 2017 Women's First and Second Rounds of the NCAA "March Madness" Tournament.

Dr. Gary was part of the statistical crew for the 2015 NCAA Men's Round 2 and 3 at the Key Arena in Seattle.  He determined turnovers, steals, blocked shots and assists for all six games.

                                  

He has also operated the Shot Clock for the UW Women's games for over 26 years.  Seattle has hosted the PAC-12 Championship games (2012,13,14,15,16,17 seasons) where all 12 schools participated in a four-day 11-game tournament to crown a single champion.  The University of Washington Stat Crew (above) has been honored to work the tournament for the last six years.

                            



 Since 1991, Dr. Heyamoto has worked at University of Washington Men's and Women's home basketball games.  He operates the Shot Clock for the Women's games and determines the Turnovers, Steals, Assists and Blocked Shots for the Men's games.  He has participated in numerous NCAA Tournaments including Western Regionals and one Final Four event.  In 2017 he "retired" from working the Men's games to spend more time as the Chair of Continuing Education for the WA AGD in addition to taking on the role of Clinical Director for their new south end facility.  He, however, continues to work Men's games whenever the UW needs help.
