A SECOND AGD's LIFELONG LEARNING AND SERVICE RECOGNITION AWARD (2012)

To accomplish his second Lifelong Learning Service Recognition Award, Dr. Heyamoto completed another 100 hours of dental-related community or volunteer services along with an additional 500 hours of continuing education hours (in 16 different dental disciplines). 2112 AGD President Howard Gamble, DMD, FAGD says, "For Dr. Heyamoto, this award symbolizes a career of excellence in dentistry and demonstrates the characteristics of a role model to his fellow dentists and to members of the community." As of 2012, only 6 of the AGD's 37,000-plus members have received the prestigious LLSR twice.

Dr. Heyamoto has received his THIRD Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition Award in San Francisco on June 20, 2015. To date about 41% of AGD members are Fellows, 8% are Masters and less than 1% have been recognized for their lifelong learning and service activities. Of all general dentists in the U.S., only about 16% have achieved Fellowship, 3% Mastership and less that .3% have earned the AGD LLSR. It takes 350 hour of certified lecture, 150 hours of hands on training and 100 hours of community volunteer work for each LLSR award. So three LLSRs is rarefied air indeed. Dr. Heyamoto is one of the first to achieve this status.
AN UNPRECEDENTED 4TH LIFELONG LEARNING SERVICE RECOGNITION

On July 20, 2019, Dr. Heyamoto received his Fourth Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition in Hartford Connecticut. He is one of two general dentists in the country to acheive this milestone. Knowledge and education of the latest techniques and treatment methods is key to successful and durable treatment.
In 2016 the Washington Academy of General Dentistry moved their educational efforts out of hotels and into a facility located next to Angle Lake.
We now occupy the fourth floor and are currently offering hands-on dental education.
Dr. Heyamoto was honored with the naming of the conference center's lecture room in his name. Again, speechless.

With his entire family present at the annual Oral Cancer/Membership Appreciation Gala Auction in October, Dr. Gary was surprised with the "2016 Dentist of the Year" recognition. Appreciative for the award, he feels the entire volunteer group should share in this honor. "It's the generous people who make up AGD's membership that give this organization such a wonderful reputation, not any one individual. I'm so greatful for the opportunity to work with WA AGD!"

In May 2018, Dr. Gary was named Snohomish County Dental Society's Special Recognition / Dentist of the Year Award for voluntary community service. Pictured is 2017 award recipient Dr. Nhi Pham presenting the recognition plaque.
In July 2018, the International College of Dentists acknowledged Dr. Gary in their newletter for Snohomish County's Citizen of the Year recognition.
